Seal of Approval Winner Fall 2017

It is always interesting to read reviews from parents about things that were once geared to them and are now designed for their children. It takes some adjustment and nowhere is this more apparent than with TV networks like Nickelodeon. Shows from their youth like Hey Arnold! and The Ren & Stimpy Show are gone, replaced with shows like The Loud House which entertain their children the same way they were 20 years ago. Instead of “In my day…” proclamations about how their shows were better (admit it, you’ve said it), parents found themselves delighted to find shows like these that offer a great, cute moral with every story. The speed of the dialogue and animation is quicker and slicker for sure.  Some parents admitted having a hard time keeping it all straight but for their kids, no problems. The main character, Lincoln Loud, is the unselfish brother who shows patience and kindness even when surrounded by ten sisters with very different personalities and needs. Parents quickly became quite fond of Lincoln and appreciated how the show celebrates love and diversity despite normal periods of conflict among siblings.

Recommended Age: 6 to 11
